Charity Drive

The last project for business, a.k.a. the most interesting and enjoyable project ever in semester 2! I grouped up with Zi Shan, Audrey & Jia Ying (Kah Yien) with Zi Shan leading.

We sold taufoofah, soya bean which are sponsored by Aunty Yen from the PJS 7 morning market, chickpeas, grass jelly and popiah which we made ourselves.

LMAO at my morning face :(

We managed to raise an amount of RM2594.45 including donations and sponsors. We collected RM2583 from our sells but we only got RM1993 after deducting our RM590 of expenses.

Sneak peaks of our girly pinky booth during the one week of charity drive and a few pictures of those few days :)

Here's our video (advertisement, footage and reflection) and report though:

Reflection:
Even though we had conflicts in the group, I was glad that we managed to hit our target and raised more than RM2500 for the BCWA. Helping and supporting the breast cancer awareness was one of my life goals after my favourite teacher died of breast cancer :(

It was rather disappointing for me that we had a little fight among ourselves. As mentioned in my reflection video, I hope that we had discussed everything properly before deciding what to do and sell for charity instead of blaming each other and only me deciding which organisation to raise for and what to sell for charity.

However, there's no use crying over spilt milk, we finished our report, video and hit our target. I am happy enough that this was a successful event with Zi Shan, Audrey and Jia Ying!

We have definitely improved my problem solving skills, communication skills; most prominently on ways to persuade others etc. From this project, we improved our communication skills. Interpersonal skills are essential when it comes to doing business and the lessons learnt in this project gave us valuable experience.

I also understood that earning money is not an easy task as the process of promotion and selling was more energy-consuming than we thought.
